Nepalese Students in Niigata City

This blog is for the purpose of providing information for those Nepalese students who wants to study in Japan especially in Niigata Prefecture. Niigata is a small size city situated on northern west coast line of Honshu island. Its estimated population on 2012 is 804,193 and its total area is 726.09 km². Niigata is famous for its rice production in japan.

The number of Nepalese citizens who reside in Niigata is very few and mainly concentrated in second hand car business. Some of them are also  involve in restaurant business.

For most of the Nepalese students Niigata is not on their top list rather prefer cities neighboring Tokyo. Unequivocally, under the influence of Educational Consultancy they end up here for their long Japanese stay.   As per my knowledge the number of Nepalese students studying Japanese language program is steadily rising in Niigata and the trend will continue in the coming days.  The influx is determine by the availability of Part time job.

With increase in the number of students the probability of getting is part time jobs gets slim. Lack of good command over Japanese language is the main constraint factor. This will confine students  to undertake  those jobs where Japanese language interaction is limited.

The Language program courses have course length of 2 years around. The focus of this course is to make student to learn Japanese only. So, if you want to study in Japanese Universities ,rather than wasting 2 years approach with them directly. Most of these universities have  courses taught in english language .It will reduce your valuable year merely on expending on language course.

Please do not rely on part time jobs only for daily expenses. Since these are limited in Niigata ,be prepared for it. If you want to appear for TOEFL,GRE,IELTS exam before joining universities , it would be better if you do all these exams before coming to Niigata.Because the test centers are not located in Niigata rather on big cities like Tokyo or Osaka.

The Train Fair is expensive. So be careful while going for a long travel. The wages if about 700 Yen per hours and varies according to time. The weather is inhospitable. It remains good only for few months and snowing and raining occurs everyday with chill cold.

Finally, Niigata is a cheap(expenses) city but with less earning(per hour). If you are coming to Niigata as a langugage student, please be aware that there is less probability of getting part time jobs. Getting jobs depends on time and fluency on japanese language.Instead choose large cities like Tokyo,Osaka.

Shutdown of Library.nu

recently there is a trend of shutting down sites like library.nu, btjunkie.org. Especially these have great impacts on students .But these will not check the people who wish to learn new things. I appreciate the job done by library.nu.

Begging infront of Neighbours

Why Nepal government continously beg with other countries for development work? They already have 90,000 +6500 armies in thier pocket. Why they don't use this for development projects like west seti hydro project, East west railways and koshi project. The country is loosing money on them for nothing. They don't even have arms factory . They are useless. Use it for development jobs which will results double digit  growth.

Morang place in Federal System

Actually i am from Morang. The future of the Morang is more bright then ever. Due to its geological situation it is close to india, bhutan, bangladesh and china. we must emphasize the use of siliguri corridor for our benefit. we cannot depend only on calcutta port. we must either choose any one on bangladesh port as well. A high speed cargo rail network joining the sea port with our country will enhance economy. The best will be building a multipurpose highway between Jhapa,Bhadrapur to Bangladesh over 21 KM strip. This will consist road, high speed rail, oil and gas pipeline, electricity grid. This will enables us to get the oil supply directly from bangladesh seaport . Nepal government must undergo with this plan. I request fresh blood to invest in building factories not those traditional factories producing third grade soap and biscuits factories. I appreciate if the factories are full with automation leading less need of manual labor. This will decrease the hazard and other unnecessary expenses. The local government must promote polytechnic schools for the manpower needed.

Diversion Projects in NEPAL

There is good news coming from Irrigation Ministry. They are now going to implement seven different diversion project in the country for the purpose of providing irrigation, drinking water, electricity production. The projects are:

1. Tamor-Morang Diversion project.
2. Sunkoshi-kamala Diversion project.
3. sunkoshi-marin bagmati Diversion project.
4. Trishuli-shaktikhor chitwan Diversion project.
5. Kaligandaki-Tinau Diversion Project.
6. West Seti-Kailali Diversion Project.
7. Bheri-Babai Diversion Project

sunkoshi-kamala and sinkoshi-marin bagmati will significantly reduce the size of sunkoshi river ultimately the koshi river, making it easier to tame and providing irrigation to lot more land in central part of the country. The Bheri-Babai is a multipurpose project with an integrated system of producing electricity as well. An estimated 45 MW of energy could be generated from this project. Beside these kaligandaki-tinau will significantly reduce the drinking water problem in Butwal. The Ministry has decided to implement drop water irrigation project in hilly regions. its always great when a country is taking a bold steps in development. The two sunkoshi diversion and tamor-morang will help in shrinking the size of koshi river and the so called need of high dam project. Due to our country's interest koshi high dam mustn't be implemented and i think nepal must not extend its aggrement with india over koshi project. There is nothing that nepal could gain beside flood. Our natural resources are being exploited in the name of building the dam and continous till today. Government should come with different plan to irrigate sunsari, morang, siraha, saptari district.
